A Bargain Hard to Beat; Amazing on a Budget

I had and used an Umidigi device (the Umidigi Power) for some time back in 2020, and I have
always admired their dedication to creating powerful devices on a budget.
To begin, the box that this device came in was a beautiful, sleek black box with a fantastic print
of the tablet on the front. The box has all of the specifications on the back, and plenty more
information. The unboxing experience was delightful, packed extremely well, neatly and
securely. While unpacking the box, there was the instruction leaflet, the tablet, the charger and
the cable, all of which were the high quality I have come to know Umidigi by.
Taking out the tablet, it was a very hefty and rugged device, as which it of course is sold as. The
case was a tough plastic case with a place for the included passive stylus in the side. The
buttons were nice and responsive, the case was durable and rugged and the tablet looked
amazing. On the tablet was a screen protector which was underneath the factory stock one,
although only a plastic screen protector, it was still a nice inclusion.
Turning the device on, it gives a very satisfying and strong vibration, along with the wonderful
starting animation Umidigi designed into the firmware. The setup was quick and painless, taking
about 5 minutes total to complete. Using the device, immediately I could tell that the device was
a well tuned and built tablet, unlike some I have used in the past at the same price point. The
attention to detail on making a rugged, affordable tablet is a greatly appreciated thing among
many. The screen protector left a bit to be desired as it felt a little bit too resistive to touch for
me, however, removing it was not a problem and it merely peeled away without resistance.
As I was getting into using the device, I noticed a few things. The screen looked great, the
colors were clear, the pixel density was nice and there was no artifacting as far as I could tell.
The brightness of the tablet was also very good, managing to be bright enough to be seen well
even in direct light. The settings for the display do seem to be rather basic, appearing to be a
stock android array of settings, however, the extra dim mode was surely my favorite feature.
One of the videos I use to test the clarity and vibrance of a screen is a 4K video of Costa Rica,
and to say it passed would be an understatement. It performed well without stutter, vibrant
colors and a clear, smooth HDR experience.
Looking into the settings of the device, you have the standard array of android settings to
choose from. One setting quite unique to this device is the ability to set the hotkey button. The
hotkey button is an added button on the tablet itself that allows you to set different apps or
features to it, granting easy access to 3 different choices by single press, double press or hold.
The button is responsive, just like the others on the device, although the case does make
pressing the buttons a bit more difficult.
The specifications of the device are fairly standard for a budget device, however still offer an
amazing amount of performance. Sporting an 8 core cpu with a 4G modem and an integrated
gpu offers a great mix of performance and efficiency. A way that I test these specifications is by using two apps; Geekbench for running a benchmark of the cpu/gpu and Device Info HW to
check through all of the device information, as well as run various tests on the device.
The specifications were as promised, sporting the T616 processor and an 11” 2K screen, along
with quad speakers and a 10000 mAh battery capacity. It has a 10-point touch capability,
allowing use of all 10 fingers at once, of which I enjoy when using it to play piano. The speaker
tests I ran passed with flying colors as well, being a nice, vibrant sound that made use of the
quad speakers for a nice stereo experience. The screen test also did well, showing a vibrant
array of the colors it ran through, without washing them out or lacking brightness.
I primarily used this device for music and videos, having them running almost constantly
throughout this review. The battery lasted anywhere from 12-26 hours, depending on the
brightness, load and whether I was watching videos or listening to music. From empty to full, the
tablet took about two and a half hours to charge, using the full 20W capability of the included
charger and cable.
In conclusion, the Umidigi Active T1 is an amazing tablet, full of great features, wonderful user
friendliness and a budget in mind. I do highly recommend this device for those that want the
robust, rugged and long lasting experience offered. For the price, you would be hard pressed to
find an alternative.

Incredible value budget tablet with 4G LTE

I have spent a week with this tablet to run it through its paces and see what works/doesn't work well for it. As a tablet, it delivers what it promises. It has a bright display, rugged features, loud sound and long lasting battery. The OS loaded on this is the latest Android OS, and I hope it does get security updates going forward but it's not a deal breaker as the price is right.
The performance is decent (first time running a Unisoc T616) and I would say it's comparable to the Samsung S6 Lite (performance wise I see the 616 may be a bit sluggish when needed) the Samsung tablet costs more than this one usually, and it doesn't have a modem for 4G network connectivity, so it loses out.
The screen is bright and vivid, no issues seeing and watching things in bright sunlight. The quad speakers on the Umidigi tablet are loud, sometimes I'm asked to turn it down. Media consumption while on the go is not an issue with this device. On service, I managed a good 6 hours of watching videos and it hasn't drained the battery, which is what I would expect from a 10,000 mAh slab. I came out from 90% to around 35% and I still had plenty of time with it after before it was prompting to be plugged in.
The CPU is not the strongest, there will be demanding games that would have issues playing but most casual games work with no issues (Minecraft and Roblox are fine)
Other features available for this device are the face unlock (there's no fingerprint scanner), additional hotkey button, customizable to your liking (I just left it as flashlight and camera) and the antenna-free FM radio, useful if you want to just listen to something without requiring internet capability.
Despite its ruggedness, you do have to take care of it that it doesn't get sand, you could damage the charge port (there's no cover for it) so I will take care of that if I take this to the beach. I'm not worried though, since it's a rugged device along with a harder protective case, that this will crack and break on any drops. I can give this to someone who's not as careful with their devices and believe it will survive plenty of wear and tear. It's a bit heavier than the Samsung tablet, since it carries a larger battery, but I'd rather have that present so it lasts much longer.
There are screw holes on the back of the protective case, perhaps it could be used for a possible stand attachment that would make this unit even better.
Overall, a decent tablet for the price, highlighted by a large battery, rugged features and 4G LTE connectivity, it's a great travel companion and media consumption unit. Great job.

La UMIDIGI Active T1 es una tablet “rugerizada” de 11 pulgadas que me ha convencido totalmente.

📱 Diseño:
Al ser rugerizada, tiene un diseño robusto y resistente, algo bastante importante en una tablet. Aguanta incluso salpicaduras e inmersiones breves en agua (en teoría). Los marcos son moderados, no sobresaliendo demasiado, y la parte trasera presenta un acabado muy chulo.

📲 Pantalla:
La pantalla FHD+ de 2000 x 1200 píxeles ofrece una buena experiencia visual, con buen brillo y ángulos muy generosos. El tacto es excelente y se puede controlar con lápiz pasivo. 11 pulgadas es un poquito más grande de lo habitual, algo que también se agradece (eso sí, ratio 5:3).

📶 Conectividad:
Tiene de todo, incluyendo GPS, Bluetooth, radio FM, y soporte para WiFi 5 y SIM 4G. Es básicamente un móvil grande, solo le falta el NFC (porque no vas a ir a comprar con una tablet, supongo…)

⚙️ Potencia y Capacidad:
El procesador de ocho núcleos es de gama media y ofrece un rendimiento fluido para apps normales y corrientes, mientras que la GPU Mali no se queda corta en juegos siempre que no sean muy exigentes. Sus 16 GB de RAM (8 de verdad y 8 extendidos) vienen muy bien para la multitarea. Para el común de los mortales, yo creo que sobra potencia, sin tirones ni problemas.

En cuanto a capacidad, los 128 GB de almacenamiento interno (ampliables hasta 1TB con tarjeta microSD) ofrecen espacio generoso para fotos, vídeos, aplicaciones, etc.

🧮 Software:
Viene con Android 13 en una versión muy limpia, sin bloatware. Conociendo a Umidigi (ya tuve un móvil suyo que me dio muy buen resultado), recibirá pocas actualizaciones, eso sí.

🤳🏻 Cámaras:
Las cámaras son más decentes tanto para fotos como para vídeo. Más allá de los megapíxeles, se comportan bien con poca luz y tienen una óptica buena para ser una tablet.

🔋 Batería:
La generosa batería de 10000 mAh asegura una duración bastante larga, con 6-8 horas de uso (según la caña que le demos, claro).

🔊 Sonido:
Tiene cuatro altavoces estéreo de muy buena calidad para una tablet de esta gama. El micrófono también graba con claridad.

En resumen, una tablet que ofrece resistencia, buen rendimiento y una pantalla estupenda a un precio asequible.

Active T1 è un tablet Android dalle ottime prestazioni e caratteristiche, perfettamente aggiornato alla versione 13 del sistema operativo e alle ultime versioni delle applicazioni. È un dispositivo molto robusto ma anche compatto per le caratteristiche rugged con cui è fabbricato, e ha una batteria veramente capiente, da 10000mAh, che permette un uso ad alte prestazioni e continuativo nel corso di tutta la giornata e oltre, la batteria infatti può durare anche due giorni o più senza alcun bisogno di ricarica.
Molto bene le prestazioni durante l'uso, grazie al suo processore octa-core e la RAM da 8+8GB, che permettono un uso fluido e senza alcuna complicazione o rallentamento di alcun tipo. Anche il resto del comparto hardware risulta essere molto buono, con schermo ampio e dai colori e dalla luminosità molto limpidi e ad alta definizione, comparto audio molto performante, con audio pulito e con alto volume anche se tenuto a medio livello, e fotocamere dalle buone prestazioni visti i 16+8MP di quella posteriore e 16MP di quella frontale.
All'interno della scatola del tablet, oltre al dispositivo, si trovano anche un ottimo caricabatterie, il cavo dedicato e una cover protettiva di gomma robusta già messa sul dispositivo, che aiuterà a mantenerlo al sicuro in caso di colpi accidentali o cadute, integrata nella cover c'è anche una utile penna con punta in gomma per usare al meglio il tablet.
Personalmente consiglio l'uso di questo dispositivo a chi ha bisogno di un tablet sia per uso in ambito lavorativo, da usare ad esempio al posto di un computer portatile, oppure anche casalingo di tutti i giorni, da usare per godersi film, musica o videogiochi, o come meglio si crede o se ne ha bisogno.

Il tablet UMIDIGI Active T1 è davvero un tablet di buona qualità e questo è facilmente intuibile già dal packaging.

Questo prodotto specifico dato il suo peso e robustezza generale è studiato per un target di persone, ovvero lavoratori, ottimo per chi lavora in officina o in cantiere e non deve preoccuparsi di danneggiare il dispositivo grazie anche alle certificazioni IP68 e IP69K, forse ottimo anche per i bambini dato che resiste agli urti, forse per i bambini un po' troppo pesante.

All'interno della scatola troviamo:

- Il tablet (completo di proteggi schermo pre-applicato)
- Cover
- Alimentatore e cavo di ricarica
- Manuale di istruzioni
- Penna touch capacitiva

Il prodotto ha degli ottimi materiali ed una buona componentistica hardware, monta processore Unisoc T616 octa core, Display da 11" 2k, 16GB di ram (8+8 virtuali), batteria da ben 10000mAh, 128GB di memoria interna espandibile fino a 1TB.

Ciò che mi ha colpito parecchio è la qualità del display, davvero bello e luminoso, super reattivo, anche il feedback aptico molto piacevole. Il tablet in se non ha problemi, ogni tanto qualche impuntamento a livello software e qualche micro lag ma nulla che possa creare troppi fastidi a livello di funzionamento.

Con questo dispositivo si può fare un po' di tutto, ho provato anche del gaming leggero con giochi come Wild Rift a dettagli medi, a parte il tempo dei caricamenti un po' lunghi per il resto girava molto bene sui 60fps fissi.

La batteria è ottima, praticamente infinita, dura giorni e giorni con un utilizzo moderato, e anche la gestione delle temperature è buona.

Mi sento di dire che il dispositivo in questione è molto valido considerando anche il rapporto qualità prezzo, per un uso casalingo o a letto per vedere video o serie magari non è il massimo per colpa del peso, davvero importante, ma si presta bene per quasi qualunque tipo di utilizzo.

Se siete in cerca di un prodotto bello resistente e comunque funzionale e discretamente performante senza spendere troppo, questo potrebbe essere un ottimo compromesso.
